Woodworking for Adults – Upcoming Class

Beginning Wednesday evening, January 29, 2025

Woodworking for Adults (age 18+) is a class to provide woodworking opportunities for adults of all skill levels. All participants are asked to come to the first class with one or more project ideas. Project ideas can also be provided to teach specific skills. If you are a beginning woodworker, beginning your experience with multiple small, simple projects may be beneficial.

Participants will receive instruction on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment and information regarding some common techniques for creating various projects.

The class consists of six sessions. The first session is a planning and orientation session. Participants will receive assistance as needed to plan a project and order materials, if necessary. The remaining 5 sessions are for project construction. Additional time will be arranged if needed.

Participants will receive instruction on tools and techniques as needed. Often, other class members will share their knowledge as well. If help is needed for gluing up pieces or cutting large parts, the instruction team or other class members will be available to provide the needed assistance. The primary tools that are used in the shop are the table saw, sliding compound miter saw, band saw, jointer, and router/router table. If there are other tools or techniques which are of interest to you, please make these known.

Please bring personal safety equipment (eye & hearing protection). There are some ear plugs and ear muffs available at the shop.
