Intro to Woodworking for Kids

9:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Cost per student $10.

Project this week: Phone Stand

Participants will use the following:

  • Bench rule
  • Try or combination square
  • Drill press and drilling jig
  • Bandsaw or hand saw
  • Disc/belt sander
  • Clamps
  • Router table (optional)

Skills used:

  • Reading a sketch or drawing
  • Measuring and marking (layout)
  • Drill to a depth
  • Using saws
  • Sanding
  • Applying a finish (mineral oil)

Safety glasses are required for participants. The club has adult and youth-sized glasses available for use, although participants are welcome to bring their own eye protection.
